Twisted Karutan is a dramatically transformed region on the eastern side of the MU Continent, born from a catastrophic chain of events that forever altered the landscape of the once-closed and barren land of Karutan. Surrounded by towering mountain ranges and long considered impossible to reach by inter-regional travel, Karutan was already a formidable and isolated place. In the northwest, a mysterious Gray Tower served as a constant source of dangerous monsters, making the area even more inaccessible to outsiders. Everything began to change when the nomads of Karutan witnessed foreigners from an unknown continent arrive on their shores. Through cooperation, the outsiders and nomads worked together to subdue the monsters of the Gray Tower, establishing a new civilization in the process. However, their peace was short-lived. Deep underground, powerful monsters had long been sealed away by Kardamahal's magic circle — but the strain of suppressing them proved too great. Cracks formed in the magic circle, pushing it beyond its limits until, with a thunderous explosion, it was completely destroyed. The moment Kardamahal's seal shattered, a vast horde of unleashed monsters surged upward toward the surface of Karutan. The sheer force of their emergence distorted the surrounding mountain ranges, warping the land and forming an entirely new and twisted topography. Now, the powerful monsters of Kardamahal have taken up positions throughout Twisted Karutan, relentlessly attacking any adventurer who dares to set foot in this chaotic and dangerous new terrain.
