Tormenta Island is a place of immense and ancient power in MU Online, playing a pivotal role in the origins of Elbeland and the story of the Elbe people. Following a devastating attack by Lemuria, the Elbe people fled to this island — a land that absorbed and radiated extraordinary energy — seeking refuge from her relentless forces. In desperation, they hastily enveloped the island in Iruha's protective veil, successfully thwarting Lemuria's advances and rendering her attempts to breach the barrier completely futile. To further protect itself, Tormenta Island released its own guardians and sealed itself off entirely from the outside world. The Elbe people entered a state of magical suspended animation within its confines, slowly evolving over time into what is now known as modern-day Elbeland as the seal gradually weakened. When the seal on Tormenta Island was finally broken, the immense energy that had been contained within was unleashed upon the world, announcing the island's presence once more. Many of Lemuria's minions who had been released vanished without a trace, but others were drawn into the island's powerful energy and fused with it — transforming into dangerous spirit-type monsters that now roam the island and claim it as their own.
